Bolton School Foundation is seeking to engage a self-employed part-time brass teacher to join its successful team of instrumental teachers in the Music Department.
The Foundation has thriving, fully-resourced music departments with over 30 specialist instrumental tutors providing weekly tuition during term time. Pupils are entered for Associated Board and Trinity exams, and many senior pupils study GCSE and A-level music.
The role involves teaching approximately 14 pupils on a 35-minute 1:1 basis, with potential to increase pupil numbers. There may also be opportunities for ensemble coaching for a suitable candidate. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, experienced brass teachers willing to teach from beginner to advanced levels on a self-employed basis. Pupils currently require lessons on cornet, trumpet, French horn, tenor horn, euphonium, and trombone.
With around 2,500 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school located on a beautiful 32-acre campus, easily accessible from nearby cities and countryside.
In Autumn 2021, the School Foundation underwent significant leadership restructuring, creating the role of Head of Foundation. The structure includes three sections: Girls’ Division, Boys’ Division, and Primary Division. Senior Officers, including Heads of each Division and the Head of Foundation, oversee the school, reporting to the Governors.
The school comprises two adjoining buildings connected by a state-of-the-art Sixth Form Centre, housing the Boys’ and Girls’ Senior Schools, both offering traditional academic education from age 11. The Primary Division includes separate Junior Schools for boys and girls from age 7, along with a co-educational Infant School and Nursery.
