Overview

Kido is a place where innovation and imagination unite to create modern Early Years settings. We're looking for a Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team at Kido International Nursery & Preschool High Barnet, High Street, Barnet, EN5 5UE launching April 2026.

Kido operates internationally in India, USA and the UK. In the UK all our nurseries are Ofsted rated Good and Outstanding and are based in London and Windsor. We blend the best practices from the Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf Steiner approaches and have a unique curriculum for children aged 3 months to 5 years. A combination of free and structured play, an engaging and interactive learning environment and an abundance of love, care and attention provide a solid foundation for children in their early years. As Deputy Manager you will be an ambassador for our values and a gatekeeper for our vibrant culture, leading from the front to uphold the highest standards for the welfare and safety of children.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure every team member is aligned with company policies and procedures and support them to uphold highest standards with pride.
  • Lead by example across the nursery, handling child protection concerns with appropriate escalation and action.
  • Support planning and organise staffing schedules and holiday rotas, maintaining proper staffing levels as per Ofsted and nursery procedures.
  • Handle administrative procedures including registrations, place allocations and other registration tasks, ensuring smooth processing.
  • Assess and record children’s progress and achievements using effective observation systems, celebrating each milestone.
  • Take ownership of your personal development with support from the dedicated Learning and Development team, aspiring to future Nursery Manager roles.
Qualifications
  • Relevant childcare qualification, level 3 minimum (see gov.uk).
  • Experienced Room Leader, Third in Charge or current Deputy Manager in a nursery setting with strong leadership skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
