The Opportunity:

The Defence & Security Portfolio hosts a series of market-leading events across the UK, Europe, and Asia. These events range from Confexes to large-scale exhibitions, all of which are leaders in their respective fields. Over the next 12 months, we will continue to expand and innovate, exploring new geographies and platforms.

We are looking for a Brand Marketing Executive to join our dynamic marketing function and provide support to the Brand Manager working across our portfolio of brands.

You will play a key role in supporting the Brand Manager to develop our brand propositions as we look to introduce a structured approach to customer research and insight, using this to inform product development as well as branding and tone of voice across our channels and assets.

You will ensure that our brand tone, look, and feel is increasingly consistent and resonates with our audiences, working with the Campaigns team to ensure this is reflected through our campaign execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of compelling event strategies that increase brand awareness, engage customers, and maximise retention to grow our events.
  • Ensure the key messages, brand guidelines and tone of voice are known, actively used and embedded into all customer touchpoints.
  • Be a brand and customer champion, both internally and externally.
  • Understand our customer value journey for key audience groups proactively working with Brand Manager and Marketing Ops to monitor KPIs throughout to constantly optimise performance.
  • Responsible for building, managing and executing key partnership agreements including media partners, associations, affiliates, technology providers and other key stakeholders within the communities.
  • Support in training and equipping our agencies, including PR, creative and digital marketing, to deliver against our brand requirements and maintaining the consistency of brand assets and communications.
  • Support the creation of plans and activities which will grow our customer database and ensure consistent growth on a continuously evolving cycle.
  • Play an active role in research and insight projects related to customer experience or brand development/enhancement.
  • Be an active and engaged member of the team working to foster collaboration within the marketing teams to ensure all promotional opportunities are maximised and best practice shared and implemented.
  • Updating of backend systems, including web pages, landing pages, content and copy to adhered messaging and best SEO across titles, descriptions and keywords.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • A proven track record of experience in brand marketing, implementing (or working with a delivery team) to drive successful marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in developing a year-round insight programme to ensure we learn about the ever-evolving needs and requirements of our customers.
  • Partnership building with stakeholder engagement success.
  • Research and analysis/ability to measure effectiveness of channels to increase efficiency.
  • Creating and developing customer care strategies and focus on customer experience.
  • Collaborative working within a small-medium sized team.
  • Capabilities of marketing automation and CRM platforms such as Pardot and Salesforce are highly desirable.
  • Experience of digital event platforms are desirable.
  • General knowledge of all GDPR laws including preference centres and privacy policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and a drive to want to make an impact.
