Job description

Brand Manager – Eye Care

Location: UK / Ireland
Function: Marketing
Reporting to: General Manager
Market: United Kingdom & Ireland
Sector: Nutraceuticals / Consumer Health / Eye Care

About the Company

We’re working with an innovative and growing consumer health business specialising in science-led nutraceutical and eye-care solutions.

With a strong focus on research, product quality and consumer wellbeing, the organisation develops specialist nutritional products designed to support eye health and healthy ageing. The business operates across international markets and combines scientific expertise with a consumer-focused approach to brand development.

As the company continues to grow its presence across the UK and Ireland, we are looking for an ambitious marketer to play a key role in shaping and accelerating the next stage of growth.

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially focused Brand Manager to lead the development and growth of an eye-care nutraceutical portfolio across Ireland and the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketer who combines strategic brand thinking with strong commercial execution. You will translate consumer, customer and scientific insights into compelling brand strategies, propositions and marketing programmes that build awareness, drive recommendation and trial, encourage repeat purchase and ultimately deliver category growth.

You’ll have a genuine interest in health, wellness, nutrition and eye care, and be comfortable working at the intersection of science, consumer marketing, healthcare professional engagement and commercial performance.

Working closely with Sales, Medical/Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, Operations and external agencies, you will help build a distinctive, trusted and commercially successful eye-care brand across two important markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Strategy & Planning

  • Own the annual brand strategy and marketing plan for the eye-care portfolio across Ireland and the UK.

  • Develop clear brand positioning, consumer propositions, messaging architecture and brand guidelines.

  • Identify growth opportunities through market, consumer, competitor and category analysis.

  • Translate consumer insights and market trends into actionable brand initiatives.

  • Develop annual brand plans, budgets, forecasts and commercial objectives.

  • Establish clear KPIs and measure brand performance against agreed objectives.

Portfolio & Product Management

  • Lead the positioning and lifecycle management of existing eye-care products.

  • Identify opportunities for new products, line extensions, pack formats and innovation.

  • Develop business cases for new product opportunities in partnership with commercial, scientific and operational teams.

  • Manage product launches from concept through to market execution.

  • Ensure the portfolio remains differentiated, relevant and competitive.

Consumer & Customer Marketing

  • Develop integrated campaigns across digital, social, content, PR, e-commerce, retail and healthcare professional channels.

  • Define target audiences and develop consumer journeys across awareness, education, consideration and conversion.

  • Develop compelling educational content around eye health, nutrition and healthy ageing.

  • Work with agencies and internal teams to deliver high-quality creative assets and campaigns.

  • Develop e-commerce and digital marketing initiatives to drive acquisition and repeat purchase.

  • Use consumer insight and data to continually optimise marketing activity.

Healthcare Professional Engagement

  • Develop marketing programmes to support engagement with relevant healthcare professionals, including optometrists, pharmacists and other appropriate professional audiences.

  • Work closely with scientific and medical colleagues to translate credible scientific evidence into clear, accessible communications.

  • Develop professional education and point-of-sale materials where appropriate.

  • Build understanding of the role of nutrition and supplementation within the wider eye-health category.

Commercial & Customer Development

  • Partner closely with Sales and Commercial teams to develop customer-specific marketing plans.

  • Support key account presentations, customer meetings and commercial negotiations where appropriate.

  • Develop channel strategies across pharmacy, optical, grocery, specialist health and e-commerce.

  • Analyse sales, distribution, pricing, promotional and market data to identify growth opportunities.

  • Track ROI and the commercial effectiveness of marketing investment.

Regulatory & Scientific Compliance

Given the nature of the category, strong regulatory awareness is essential.

  • Ensure brand communications, packaging, advertising and promotional materials are developed within applicable Irish and UK regulatory frameworks.

  • Work closely with Regulatory and Scientific Affairs to ensure product and marketing claims are appropriately substantiated and authorised.

  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant nutrition and health-claims legislation and its implications for brand strategy.

  • Ensure marketing activity is responsible and does not make inappropriate medicinal or disease-treatment claims for food supplements.

  • Understand the differing regulatory considerations across Ireland, Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor the eye-care, nutraceutical, supplement and consumer-health markets.

  • Track competitor positioning, innovation, pricing, promotional activity and communications.

  • Identify emerging consumer trends and unmet needs.

  • Produce regular market and brand performance reports for senior management.
