About Us

Berkmann Wine Cellars is proud to represent one of the most respected and diverse portfolios in the UK wine trade, featuring iconic producers from across the globe. Our exclusive agency brands are widely admired in the on-trade sector for their quality, authenticity, and innovation.

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy Brand Ambassador to champion our portfolio of premium French and Prestige wines in the UK On-Trade. This high-impact role bridges the gap between Brand Management and Sales, focusing on building brand reputation, securing key listings, and boosting the rate of sale across influential accounts.

As a custodian of heritage-rich French wine brands, you will immerse yourself in the culture, understand each brand’s lifecycle, and bring their vision to life for UK customers. Whether at brand dinners, high-profile tastings, or trade activations, you will be the go-to expert and advocate, closing deals through a mix of gravitas, strategy, and cultural flair.

Your Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

  • Represent and evangelise our French portfolio within the UK trade, embodying brand values and vision
  • Work with Brand Managers and Trade Marketing to develop and execute promotional campaigns
  • Deliver a clear annual calendar of prospection activity by brand and channel
  • Win new listings and open new accounts in high-visibility, brand-aligned outlets
  • Provide engaging social media content and carry out engaging activations
  • Regularly report on brand performance, provide actionable feedback, and propose corrective measures.
  • Host exceptional brand experiences – from tastings and dinners to bespoke events
  • Deliver standout brand visibility in the on- and off-trade through original and relevant activity

What We Are Looking For

  • Deep understanding and appreciation of French culture (fluency in French is a plus)
  • Strong sales background (preferably in FMCG or luxury brands), with a commercial mindset
  • Strong understanding of marketing
  • Proven success in the UK drinks industry, with excellent knowledge of wine/champagne and competitor landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to turn consumer insights into actionable brand strategy
  • Highly persuasive and confident in presenting to a range of stakeholders – from sommeliers to senior buyers
  • Creative thinker with the tenacity to overcome objections and close deals with flair
  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a business-related field)
  • Charismatic, gregarious, and comfortable being the face of a brand
  • Natural host with strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Highly computer literate, with experience in Navision, Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Why Join Us?
This is your opportunity to leave a tangible mark on prestigious wine labels while working in a collaborative and vibrant environment. You will have the freedom to innovate, the support to succeed, and the chance to live and breathe some of France’s finest wines – all while growing market presence and brand equity in the UK.

Have fun. Make impact. Celebrate wine.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:30pm. However, given the nature of our clients in the hospitality sector, flexibility is essential — to support customer needs, events, and tastings. Some activities may also involve international travel, so a valid passport is necessary.

Work Location

Head office in London. It is a requirement that the applicant will work from the office at least 3 days a week. The applicant must be willing to travel locally and nationally, some evening and weekend work may be required.

How to Apply

This is a key role within our business, therefore if you are interested in applying for the vacancy please submit your CV to [emailprotected] .

Please note that should any suitable CVs be received whilst the advert is live then individuals will be invited to interview.

Offer

  • Company pension
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Pay
  • Contribution to Dental Costs
  • Generous staff discount on our wine
  • A bottle of wine on your birthday and Berkmann anniversary

We cannot consider your application if you do not have the legal right to work in the UK. You must also satisfy the required knowledge and experience criteria detailed above.

Equal consideration will be given to all candidates, irrespective of their gender, race, disability, marital status, religion, age or sexuality.
