Job Description:

Branch Sales Managers are an essential part of the Travis Perkins branch team, working closely with the Branch Manager to develop a sales strategy focused on proactive development of existing customers, lapsed customers, and attracting new ones to maximize profitable sales. You will engage branch colleagues in executing this plan to grow sales and add value to the business, while delivering our Doing What Matters strategy for colleagues and customers at a local level through operational effectiveness.

What will I be doing? No two days are the same in TP branch life, but here are some key responsibilities:

  • Building strong relationships with customers and inspiring branch colleagues to support the sales strategy, maintaining professionalism, friendliness, and enthusiasm.
  • Understanding local competition to identify opportunities and develop sales propositions that meet customer needs, ensuring competitiveness.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with customers to ensure ongoing profitability.
  • Liaising with suppliers to create local commercial plans for profitable sales.
  • Ensuring safety is prioritized, with all colleagues and customers leaving the branch safely by adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Being a key-holder, often opening or closing the branch.
  • Supporting the Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager in managing aspects of the branch and business.

What experience do you need? Previous experience in a builders’ merchant is advantageous but not essential. This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent customer service, relationship-building, and teamwork. Transferable skills such as sales experience, customer service, and leadership are valued. We are looking for candidates who are:
