Animal Shelter Branch Administrator - Part Time (Temporary)

We are seeking a dedicated Branch Administrator to join a well-known animal shelter's team. This is an ongoing temporary contract with a part-time schedule, primarily remote, with weekly site visits to the Essex Southwest Branch.

The role involves 10-15 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, preferably on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, between 10am-4pm, with some flexibility.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Managing the branch inbox, triaging emails, replying or delegating as needed, and handling general enquiries
  • Creating records for all branch pets
  • Administering fostering and adoption processes, including animal welfare check-ins
  • Streamlining processes and policies
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding of volunteers
  • Maintaining and promoting branch memberships

Ideal candidates will have an interest in animal welfare, proficiency in Excel and spreadsheets, and good communication skills. Attention to detail is essential. Experience working in veterinary administration or having pets, especially cats, is advantageous due to the vernacular used.

This role requires weekly onsite visits in Chingford, Essex, so reliable travel is necessary. The position is suitable for someone seeking long-term ongoing work, perhaps during school hours or alongside other projects.
