Qualifications

  • Previous care experience (brain injury experience desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine interest in sport - football and rugby.
  • Excellent communication skills and a caring, positive approach.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence (you will be required to drive the client’s car).
  • Flexibility to work the agreed hours.

Job description
Role: Brain Injury Support Worker - Part-Time (with potential to increase)

Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England (HU8). Hours: 8 hours per week, with scope to increase to align with client\'s wife\'s work shifts. Pay: £15.40 per hour. This is a compassionate and proactive role to support a client to live as independently as possible.

About the Role

In this role, you\'ll support a family man in his 50s who sustained a brain injury following a workplace accident. He experiences physical challenges including weakness in his right arm and leg, mild epilepsy, vertigo, tinnitus, and intermittent hearing loss. He enjoys football and rugby with his daughter. You\'ll be expected to share enthusiasm for sport and bring energy, empathy, and encouragement. The family home includes a friendly Labrador, so comfort around large dogs is needed.

  • Providing person-centred care and support with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation
  • Administering medication and monitoring health needs
  • Supporting the client to remain active and engaged in the community, including football matches, rugby training, and therapy sessions
  • Offering companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
  • Working closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes
