Job description

    We have an excellent opportunity for asupport worker to work alongside our client in Corby, Northampton.

    Our client is a young man in his 20s who due to an acquired brain injury has complex needs, including visual, cognitive and speech impairment along with some mobility issues. He lives at home with his parents, older brother and the family cat, he enjoys going to the gym, gaming, playing the guitar and reading.

    Due to the client's support needs the successful candidate can be either male or female, will have some experience working with complex needs and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship.

    Pay: £14.42 per hour

    Hours: 30 per week over five days (Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 15:00)

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Libertatem Healthcare Group (part of Sonderwell) was established to provide the very best levels of care and support for clients who have sustained personal injuries or suffered from medical negligence. Operating on a national basis, we provide our clients with care and support wherever they are located. Our packages put our client's independence at the very centre of everything we do.
    • Supporting, and engaging with personalised routines inclusive of hoists.
    • Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
    • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
    • Providing emotional support and companionship.
    • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients' conditions.
    • Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
    Requirements:
    • A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
    • Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
    • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
    • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
