We have a new opportunity for a Braille Teacher to join our friendly and dynamic Vision Impairment Advisory Team.

You will play an essential part of the VI Advisory Team at InFocus Charity, providing a key element of learning to our students’ education. For this position, you will need to be able to read and write in Braille to grade 2 level.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with support staff, tutors, and Pathways Leads for visually impaired students.
  2. Manage your caseload by delivering Braille teaching as part of students' learning programs.
  3. Provide necessary resources to aid students and support staff in classrooms.
  4. Identify individual learning needs and adapt teaching accordingly.
  5. Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment to develop Braille and pre-Braille skills.

Additional Information

Not all students can use Braille, but some learn it as a vital communication and literacy skill. Students with complex needs may be taught pre-Braille skills to support tactile resource use.
