Job summary

Academy Music Group Limited, based in Glasgow, is seeking a Box Office Manager to oversee the box office operations for O2 Academy Glasgow. You will ensure smooth ticketing, excellent customer service, and effective liaison with Ticketmaster and promoters.

The role requires experience in a live entertainment box office, strong leadership, and the ability to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays to deliver outstanding service to audiences and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an efficient and smooth box office service.
  • Daily liaison with Ticketmaster, ticket agencies and promoter ticketing departments.
  • First-class customer service to clients and audiences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and audiences.
  • Ensure accurate and timely sales of all ticketed events.
  • Monitor ticket allocations to maximise sales through Ticketmaster.
  • Supervise and train all casual box office employees.
  • Proactively manage all accessible ticketing requirements and communications.
  • Financial reporting and administration.
  • Reconciliation and cash management following AMG procedures.

The role

The Box Office Manager is an integral position within the team, to provide seamless and exceptional customer and client services and our audiences. You will contribute to the effective running of our core business objectives and commercial targets, be passionate about the entertainment industry and highly motivated to deliver an outstanding experience to all clients and customers. Our team O2 Academy Glasgow is one of the city’s leading live music and club venues, where our shows and events are as diverse as the individuals within them. The successful candidate will be contributing to an innovative team to ensure high-quality service, driving our inclusive culture to deliver the best possible programme of live entertainment for everyone, where collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

About you
  • Experience in a box office environment within the live entertainment industry
  • Significant experience in ticketing platforms

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure all paperwork and reporting are completed accurately, efficiently and professionally retained.
  • Management of ticket stock and Ticketmaster equipment
  • Support the Company’s charitable and guest ticketing services, following the AMG guestlist procedure and reconciliation.
  • Troubleshoot and report technical issues
  • Work collaboratively with the venue team, partners and Company head office
  • Publicly represent the venue and Company in a professional manner
