Your new company

You'll be working for a wildlife trust-owned environmental consultancy, independently surveying. This work is being delivered for a larger organisation, with the end client being DEFRA. There are multiple stakeholders involved in delivering the project.

Your new role

You'll be conducting botanical and vegetation surveys across England to increase data spatial scale, assess ecosystems, provide tools (indicators, models, etc.), and consolidate existing data streams. This work aims to benefit biodiversity at both local and national levels by informing monitoring, remote sensing strategies, environmental land management reform, and national habitats mapping for Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS).

What you'll need to succeed

Willingness to travel across the UK to remote locations and competence in accurately collecting data and completing surveys.

Essential Requirements:

  • Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) - Level 3
  • UK Driving Licence and vehicle
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to record data accurately and reliably
  • Proficiency with survey equipment and technology

Desirable Requirements:

  • FISC Level 4 or higher
  • Degree in Ecological/Environmental Science
  • Experience leading and organizing surveys

What you'll get in return
