Job summary

Michael Page Finance is recruiting an Accountant/Bookkeeper for its Nottingham office. The role focuses on maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, preparing management and statutory accounts, and ensuring VAT compliance for a diverse client base.

You will reconcile accounts and liaise with clients to resolve queries. The ideal candidate has prior practice experience, strong bookkeeping skills, and is either AAT qualified or studying ACCA/ACA, or qualifies by experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience.
• Knowledge of VAT and HMRC requirements.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software.
• AAT qualification or studying ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience.

• Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio
• Preparing management accounts and statutory accounts
• Processing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts
• Reconciling bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and ledgers
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support

Profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience
• Knowledge of VAT, reconciliations and financial reporting requirements
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software
• AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience
