Job summary

Confidential, a well-established Wickford accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage a varied portfolio of clients and provide accurate and timely bookkeeping services.

This role offers hybrid working, a supportive team, ongoing training, and potential for progression, with a salary up to £32,000 depending on experience.

You will work with cloud software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to process records, VAT returns and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and bookkeeping principles.
• Experience using Xero, Sage and/or QuickBooks.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
• AAT qualification or studies would be advantageous but are not essential.

Responsibilities

• Processing bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Managing sales and purchase ledgers.
• Assisting with management accounts preparation.
• Liaising directly with clients regarding bookkeeping queries.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met.

Reed Accountancy Practice are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Wickford for an experienced Bookkeeper.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous accountancy practice experience who is looking to join a friendly and supportive team, with the flexibility of hybrid working available.

The Role

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing a high-quality bookkeeping service, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Processing bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Bank reconciliations
• Managing sales and purchase ledgers
• Assisting with management accounts preparation
• Liaising directly with clients regarding bookkeeping queries
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met
• Working with cloud-based accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
