Bookkeeper Job Specification

Location: Chichester (Office-based, Hybrid, or Fully Remote)

Salary: Circa £30,000 DOE

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly
  • Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash flow
  • Process invoices, expense claims, and payroll where required
  • Support month-end and year-end accounts preparation
  • Assist with VAT submissions and compliance reporting
  • Provide timely financial reports and insights to support business decisions
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners as required
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role
  • Proficient in Xero; knowledge of other accounting software is a plus
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience within the property or estate agency sector is desirable but not essential
