Job description

We are a small business, trading since 1996. We sell promotional merchandise and direct mail services. Around 80% of our clients are based overseas.

We’re looking for an experienced part time bookkeeper to join our busy team, and help keep our finances running smoothly. This is a flexible role with the opportunity to work around your schedule - ideal for someone looking to balance out work with other commitments.

Responsibilities:

• Entering sales and purchase invoices and payments.
• Making payments to suppliers.
• Dealing with customer overdue accounts.
• Checking supplier invoices costs against orders.
• Bank reconciliation.
• Handling the monthly payroll.
• Running the VAT quarter end and submitting VAT Return.
• Completing various admin tasks associated with the bookkeeping function.
• As we’re a small business, you would take full responsibility for taking care of the books, and would report directly to the directors.

Requirements:

• Previous bookkeeping and some payroll experience is essential.
• Formal qualifications are not strictly necessary, experience is more important. Though preference may be given to candidates with AAT or ICB qualifications. ACCA would of course be particularly welcome
• Good working knowledge of Excel, though no formal qualifications are necessary.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Flexible hours to suite, 15 to 20 per week spread over 5 days.
• 25 days per annum holidays (pro-rata), plus public bank holidays, all paid.
