Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Bookkeeper who’s confident with day to day finance tasks, enjoys taking ownership of the numbers, and is happy to support general office operations when needed.

This is a key role in a small team - perfect for someone who thrives in a varied environment, enjoys autonomy, and wants to be part of a close-knit, ambitious business.

What you’ll be doing

Accounts & Bookkeeping

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including data entry, bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance.

  • Raise and process purchase orders and invoices.

  • Manage supplier accounts, ensuring timely payments and accurate records.

  • Assist with cash flow management and financial reporting.

  • Support payroll processing and expense management.

  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with monthly/quarterly reporting.

  • Liaise with external accountants and HMRC where required.

Office Management Support

  • Assist with general office administration and supplier coordination.

  • Help with onboarding admin for new starters and basic HR records.

  • Support directors with occasional ad hoc tasks (e.g. travel booking, document formatting, or policy updates).

  • Keep office systems and processes running efficiently – from software subscriptions to printer paper.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or an accounts assistant role.

  • Confident working with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks or Sage).

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with strong numerical skills.

  • Able to prioritise and manage your own workload independently.

  • A problem-solver who enjoys taking initiative and improving processes.

  • Friendly, professional, and a team player – we’re a small, supportive crew.

  • Experience in construction or property (nice to have, not essential).
