You will be joining a growing accountancy firm in the heart of Lancaster, who specialise in accounts, tax, bookkeeping, payroll and advisory professions, offering an innovative and flexible approach to accountancy. It is the perfect opportunity for you to have exposure to a variety of clients, from small firms to SMEs, dealing with turnovers ranging from £50,000 to £500,000. This Bookkeeper job has arisen due to the constant internal growth within the firm.

Your new Job

Your new role will see you working day to day on bookkeeping duties, from basic bookkeeping to supporting the accounts team. You will help prepare VAT returns, support the payroll team, complete self-assessment tax returns and confirmation statements. You will also assist clients, including CIS clients, with bookkeeping and problem-solving to help them achieve their best. This is a great opportunity to enter an exciting, growing firm at a junior level and work towards a senior level.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need prior experience in bookkeeping within an accountancy practice. Experience with accountancy software, specifically Xero and Taxcalc, is required as this will be used frequently. Personal attributes such as motivation to achieve daily tasks and the ability to multitask are essential.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will be offered a competitive salary between £22,000 - £27,000, depending on experience, along with the opportunity to be part of a new, growing firm that supports your development as an accounts professional. You will also receive 30 days of holiday, plus bank holidays, paid parking by the director, hybrid working patterns, and additional benefits upon employment.
