Bookkeeper

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £23,400 - £27,300 P/A Depending on Experience

Hours: 9am - 5pm, 4 Days per week

Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper who enjoys taking ownership of your work and thrives in a proactive, commercial environment? We are working with a modern and growing company based in Huddersfield who are looking to strengthen their finance function with the addition of a confident, forward-thinking Bookkeeper.

This role would suit someone who can hit the ground running, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team. Accuracy, problem-solving, and a proactive attitude are key!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inputting invoices and managing supplier accounts
  • Conducting supplier checks and making payments
  • Payroll processing and credit card management
  • Balancing accounts and ensuring all records are accurate within QuickBooks
  • Handling telephone and email queries professionally
  • Supporting wider finance and administration tasks as needed

Key Requirements:

  • A strong background in bookkeeping and accounts (ideally senior-level experience)
  • Proficient with QuickBooks (minimum 3-4 years' experience preferred)
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Highly accurate, commercially minded, and able to challenge processes where needed
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Confident communication skills, both over the phone and via email
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively to solve problems, both spotting and addressing any issues.
