Job description

Bookkeeper| Aldridge, Walsall | Full Time | Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 4:45 pm (¾ hour lunch), early finish Fridays at 4:00 pm (½ hour lunch) | Up to £30,000 per annum

Are you the right person for the job?

• A minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience of using Sage Instant Accounting
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
• Experience managing sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and month-end accounts
• Comfortable working in a busy office environment with a varied workload

What will your role look like?

• Prepare and dispatch approximately 180 sales invoices per month for around 50 customers and manage credit control
• Process around 180 purchase invoices monthly from 60 suppliers, including nominal coding and payment allocation
• Handle bank receipts, reconciliations, and manual cashbook entries transferred to Sage
• Reconcile credit card statements for 12 engineers and manage petty cash control
• Maintain nominal ledger entries, including recurring entries and manual journals for depreciation and payroll analysis
• Support month-end processes including VAT returns, P&L, balance sheet, and management accounts
• Provide monthly engineer turnover and overhead analysis
