Anderson Knight is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Glasgow, who are currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time, office-based basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail-driven finance professional to join a dynamic and client-focused firm, offering a supportive environment and long-term career potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients across various industries
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements
  • Providing comprehensive payroll services, including auto-enrolment and RTI submissions
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of personal and business tax returns
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines and statutory requirements
  • Liaising directly with clients to gather information and provide ongoing support
  • Maintaining accurate records using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

Requirements:

  • Experience working in an accountancy practice environment is essential
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping, payroll processes, VAT regulations, and tax return preparation
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
  • AAT qualified or working towards a professional qualification is desirable
