Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire

Hours: Part-Time (75 hours per month)

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent), pro-rata

Job Summary

We Are Ghost is looking for a meticulous and reliable Bookkeeper to manage our company's day-to-day financial records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, and ensuring our financial transactions are recorded correctly and efficiently. You will be a crucial part of the team, ensuring the company’s financial health is perfectly maintained and compliant.

Responsibilities
Daily & Monthly Accounting
  • Recording day-to-day financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Managing and maintaining the sales ledger and purchase ledger.
  • Performing regular reconciliations of all company bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Posting journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Managing petty cash transactions.
Financial Compliance & Reporting
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns to HMRC in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, including the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
  • Preparing the books to the trial balance stage for the company's accountant.
  • Maintaining a clear and organised digital and physical filing system for financial records.
Payroll & Credit Control
  • Processing the company's payroll, ensuring staff are paid correctly and on time.
  • Managing employee expense claims.
  • Conducting credit control and chasing any outstanding invoices to ensure healthy cash flow.
  • Setting up new client and supplier accounts.
Qualifications
