Job summary

Puro Accountancy is assisting an accountancy firm in Bury to recruit a Bookkeeper for their experienced team. You will handle sales/purchase invoicing, VAT returns, payroll journals, and support management accounts while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role suits someone with 2–3 years bookkeeping experience, VAT knowledge, and proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and DEXT, working closely with clients in a practice setting.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or similar role.
• AAT qualified or actively studying towards qualification.
• Exposure to VAT rules and VAT returns.
• Experience handling client portfolios in a practice.

Responsibilities

• Record sales and purchase invoices.
• Prepare VAT returns.

Puro Accountancy is pleased to assist an Accountancy firm located in Bury in their search for a Bookkeeper to become part of their experienced and growing team of experts.

Responsibilities:

• Work with clients ranging from £1M - £10M in turnover
• Recording sales and purchase invoices
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Processing payroll journals
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
• Skilled in managing a client portfolio within a practice setting
• Capable of working autonomously and comfortable resolving inquiries and requesting information from clients

Requirements:

• Ideally hold a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within a similar Bookkeeping position
• AAT qualified or looking to complete this or equivalent soon
• Have exposure with various software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and DEXT
• Hold good knowledge of VAT and the ability to apply VAT rules and regulations
