Job description

We are seeking a dynamic individualto join our busy and fast paced department.You must demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills along with outstanding customer service, and have experience of working with IT systems.

The Central Booking Team is a very busy department with an expanding service where admin plays a crucialrole.You will be dealing with members of the public on the telephone on a daily basis . This role is based at Osprey House in Sowton opposite the N ightingale hospital.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a busy and vibrant team to join us in the Central Booking team as a Booking Clerk. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, an ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure.

You will have experience of a strong administration background relating to the job description. You will need to be adaptable, reliable and an excellent team member. Knowledge of working in a hospital environment and medical terminology is desirable.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven experience in dealing with patients on the telephone. You will be flexible and adaptable with excellent IT skills.

You will need to enjoy the challenge of working as part of a busy team yet have the ability to use your own initiative to meet the changing needs of the department.

Our team is made up of dedicated, patient focused individuals, who communicate well and have great interpersonal skills. They’re organised problem solvers with strong attention to detail.

Working Pattern:Monday - Friday, 0900 - 1700

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers )
