Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers UK in London invites applications for a Production Controller within the Production team to manage frontlist, reprints and specials, ensuring budgets, lead times and quality targets are met.

You will estimate costs with suppliers, coordinate schedules, and liaise with warehouses and creative teams while supporting colleagues across titles; hybrid work policy requires three days in the London office.

Qualifications

• Interest in print production.
• Good communication skills.
• Good numerical skills.
• Ability to ask for help with solving problems, escalating as necessary.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Desirable: understanding of InDesign/print pdfs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products are produced within budget through estimating and maintaining costs; negotiate with suppliers; present final costs and process invoices.
• Run costings to support commercial decisions with accurate information.
• Manage schedules for titles from costing through delivery; communicate with stakeholders.
• Manage special sales from pricing to delivery notes.
• Work with print and freight suppliers across regions to ensure production efficiency.
• Liaise with warehouse and client services on stock issues and title releases.
• Maintain records in production systems and archiving processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation and licensors.
