Job description

About Quibble

Quibble is a growing platform built for the next generation of authors and readers. It’s human-first by design - all book submissions are reviewed and approved by human editors. If rejected, an author cannot launch and publish on the app. Authors can earn income without sacrificing copyright control. Currently in open alpha, available on iOS/Android.

In preparation for the official platform launch on September 17, we're looking for a driven editor to join our editorial team as a volunteer, with the potential to turn into a paid position down the line.

About the Role

As an Editor at Quibble, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping the content on the platform. The creative world is drowning in soulless, generic and fast machine-made content. As a result, even great books are vanishing into the noise.

Unlike traditional publishing, editorial work at Quibble isn’t about perfecting manuscripts for print, line by line. Our Editors help surface meaningful stories in their rawer forms, offering light-touch guidance while preserving the author’s original voice. They are thoughtful, honest, and generous with their insight. You don’t need to be a professional.

Part of the role is identifying when something reads synthetic, empty, mass-produced or just low quality. The other part is helping us shape our products and systems that will allow Quibble to maintain high editorial standards at scale in the future.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong editorial eye and sensitivity to author intent
  • Excellent written communication
  • Passion for emerging voices and underrepresented stories
  • Interest in publishing, technology, and indie literature
  • Comfort with ambiguity and excitement about building something from the ground up

Application Process

  • Interview #1.
  • A small trial assignment.
  • Interview #2.
  • Final decision.
