Pay Rate: £39,239.20

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: 4 on 4 off - 2 days (04:30am till 16:30pm) + 2 nights (16:30pm till 04:30am)

Overview

We are DHL Supply Chain, a leading logistics provider delivering aviation support services at UK airports. The role is based at an airport facility and requires security/background checks for successful applicants.

Responsibilities
  • Assign spaces and time slots for baggage handling, catering, aircraft cleaning and staff access routes.
  • Ensure smooth flow and turnaround of aircraft by managing back-of-house logistics.
  • Use airport management systems to plan and adjust allocations in real-time based on flight schedules, delays, or emergencies.
  • Ensure resource allocation complies with safety rules and operational standards.
  • Minimize risks such as congestion in baggage areas or delays in aircraft servicing.
Qualifications and skills
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence – this is essential for airside access.
  • Have prior experience in the aviation industry, ideally within an operational environment.
  • Possess proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Bring knowledge or experience of back-of-house (BOH) operations – desirable but not essential.
  • Be fully flexible to work shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Remain calm and confident in challenging or high-pressure situations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be willing to attend a medical assessment as part of onboarding.
Security and onboarding
  • To obtain a full airside ID, you must provide five years of address history.
  • Be able to provide five years of reference history (employment/education/benefit claim/character).
  • Pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
