Position Overview

The Boeing Design-Build Team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Berkeley, MO. The role involves supporting Boeing test requirements through designing support structures, lab interfaces, and assisting with fabrication and installation of test articles for evaluation in lab environments.

Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical design criteria based on customer test objectives
  • Design and document mechanical systems, components, and interfaces for test hardware
  • Conduct assessment and trade studies for materials and fabrication methods
  • Create work statements and fabrication drawings
  • Incorporate instrumentation into designs
  • Analyze test hardware for stress, thermal, modal, and fluid dynamics aspects
  • Support installation and testing procedures in the lab
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience in mechanical systems design
  • Proficiency with CAD tools like Siemens NX or CATIA
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years' related work experience or equivalent education
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance within past 24 months
  • 2+ years' experience in mechanical/system design
  • Experience with stress analysis, FEA software, and structural dynamics
