Job summary

The Trust has an exciting opportunity for the role of Body Worn Video Manager.

Following the substantial investment in the safety of our people, through the use of body worn video, a vacancy has arisen to manage the BWV portfolio within the Trust.

Reporting to the Crime & Violence Reduction Manager, the post holder will oversee all aspects of body worn video throughout the Trust, from ensuring our colleagues have access to BWV, to advising senior leaders on the use and governance of the technology.

This is a challenging and demanding role with no two days being the same. The postholder will be a strategic thinker with passion and enthusiasm for keeping our people safe.

The postholder will have a frequent requirement for Trust-wide travel. There will be a requirement for flexibility in working hours, including working bank holidays and occasional weekend working depending on the requirements and demands of the role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead safety within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible to the Crime & Violence Reduction Manager (SRO for body worn video) for the timely, efficient, and effective management of body worn video (BWV) provision on behalf of the Trust.

Provides policy, standard operating procedures, guidance and assistance to Trust managers, staff, volunteers, and external agencies on issues relating to BWV.

Responsibility to ensure that the service adapts to national mandates, maintaining robust administration and reporting routines. Support the provision of reliable data to monitor the functions of the service. Ensure compliance with NHS England requirements of the project.

Lead on the rollout, development, implementation of all BWV systems within the Trust.

Work as part of a wider Crime & Violence Reduction team to ensure recognised added value of this function to the organisation.

Be the Trust lead on Body Worn Video systems and Digital Evidence Management Systems (DEMS).

Support the Crime & Violence Reduction Team across a full spectrum of requirement as defined by NHS England relating to the use of BWV in violence reduction. Produce reports for and present to key committees and groups.

Coordinate incident reporting and analysis with regards to the wearing of BWV and activations.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree or Equivalent experience
  • Current, full driving licence
  • Foundation or higher Certificate in Data Protection

Desirable:

  • General management or project management qualification
Previous experience

Essential:

  • Experience in the management of body worn video within a large organisation
  • Implementation and support of body worn video systems
  • Experience in the management of body worn video within the NHS, ambulance service or other large organisation
  • Experience of successfully managing at least one project
  • Experience of violence prevention and reduction initiatives within a large organisation

Desirable:

  • Experience of building communication links and developing effective working relationships across boundaries with external partner organisations and stakeholders in connection with violence reduction
  • Experience in completing complex risk assessments
