Job summary

Oyster Yachts, a world‑renowned British luxury yacht builder, is seeking an Internal Boat Builder at our Wroxham, Norfolk site. You will contribute to the construction and fit‑out of yacht interiors, manufacturing, assembling and installing internal components to exacting standards.

The role requires strong carpentry/joinery skills, reading and applying technical drawings, and an ability to work safely at pace in a tight schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience in boatbuilding and interior joinery works, with focus on quality finishes.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled with timber, GRP products, and related hand/power tools.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to working practices.
  • Desirable experience in marine projects and high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble, and install interior components across the yacht range.
  • Interpret technical drawings and build to exact specifications.
  • Maintain high safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with Boat Builder Manager and the team to meet demanding schedules.

Working at the heart of the build process, our interior teams combine traditional joinery techniques with modern materials and processes to deliver exceptional standards of finish. Every component is built with precision and care, ensuring our yachts offer both outstanding performance and refined comfort for life at sea.

The Role

As an Internal Boat Builder, you will play a key role in the construction and fit-out of yacht interiors, contributing directly to the quality, functionality, and finish of each vessel. Reporting to the Boat Builder Manager at our Wroxham site, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and installing a variety of internal components across our yacht range.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong carpentry/joinery skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of how interior elements integrate within the wider build. You will work from technical drawings and specifications to ensure all components are produced and fitted accurately, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Fitting ply bulkheads
  • Epoxy lay-up of sub-assemblies
  • Making and fitting cabin sole bearers
  • Cladding bulkheads with polished veneered ply
  • Making and fitting a variety of boat furniture
  • Making and fitting sole boards
  • Carrying out basic upholstery work on overhead panels
  • Making and hanging cabin doors
About You
  • Have robust boatbuilding construction knowledge
  • Possess competent manufacturing knowledge (timber, fibreglass products, for example)
  • Have a good understanding of safe working practices and Health and Safety
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Are skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Have experience of reading and understanding technical drawings
  • Have experience of working with raw materials and tools to a high standard
  • Have previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP boats (desirable)
  • Have high levels of attention to detail and are self-motivated
  • Are comfortable working at pace with a high volume of work and are a team player
Qualifications

Relevant C&G Qualifications or equivalent (desirable)
