McKoy Dance Project (MDP) is a boundary-breaking contemporary dance company dedicated to increasing access in the arts and amplifying the voices of BIPOC and queer communities. We present powerful, story-driven dance works and community-centered programs that challenge tradition and celebrate identity.
Founded in NYC, with plans to expand to Miami and London, MDP is building a global, inclusive platform for dance that redefines who it’s for, how it’s made, and where it lives. In just 5 years, MDP has served over 2,000+ people in the NYC area alone.
MDP is building a mission-aligned, working board of visionary, passionate leaders who can offer:
Strategic Insight – Guidance as we expand to new markets and scale sustainably
Fundraising Support – Connections, advocacy, and/or direct financial contributions
Community Connection – Ties to cultural, philanthropic, or local communities
Creative Thinking – Enthusiasm for arts innovation, inclusion, and impact
Ideal backgrounds include: nonprofit leadership, finance, marketing, law, arts management, DEI, philanthropy, or community development—but all champions of our mission are welcome.
MDP Board Commitment –
1) Term Length: 3 years, with max 3 terms or until a suitable replacement is found
2) Meetings: Quarterly board meetings (virtual or hybrid), with optional committee involvement
3) Annual Give/Get: Support MDP through a meaningful personal contribution and/or fundraising efforts
4) Engagement: Be a vocal advocate for MDP in your networks and community
