Disability Equality Scotland is a national disabled people’s organisation, member-led and serving as the umbrella body for the Access Panel Network in Scotland. We aim to strengthen our Board and are seeking three dedicated individuals to join us.
As a registered Scottish charity, our mission is to give all disabled people in Scotland a voice, advocating for change through trust, care, and empathy.
Our recent 5-year Strategic Plan outlines our vision for Equality, Inclusion, and Participation for disabled people in Scotland. We engage closely with members and Access Panels to address issues affecting disabled individuals and foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard and acted upon.
One of our strategic goals is to facilitate discussions that lead to change, increasing awareness and understanding of Equality, Access, and Inclusion across Scotland. We are committed to championing these values within our staff, volunteers, and members.
We are looking for Directors who can complement our current Board with skills or knowledge in areas such as:
The role requires enthusiasm, commitment, and a collaborative spirit, with a willingness to engage in new activities. Governance experience in any sector is desirable but not essential, as induction support will be provided.
