All Board Members are responsible, individually and collectively, to the Welsh Government through the Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership.

The Welsh Government and Sport Wales believe that public body board members should reflect Welsh society—people from all walks of life—to better understand people's needs and make informed decisions. We encourage applications from under-represented groups including women, people under 30, Black, Asian and minority ethnic people, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Board and Committee meetings are held in a hybrid format, and we strongly encourage applicants from mid, west, and north Wales.

It is the policy of the Welsh Government to promote equality of opportunity in all its activities, including appointments to public bodies. We welcome applications from all groups and ensure no eligible candidate is treated less favourably based on age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, or pregnancy and maternity. Appointments are made on merit following fair and open competition.

The closing date for applications is 02 June 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Interviews are expected to be held in the week commencing 30 June 2025.
