Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a BMS for the Histopathology Department to support quality and training initiatives and help deliver ISO 15189 compliant standards.

The post focuses on implementing quality management systems, providing histology training to a range of staff and students, and deputising for senior BMS personnel when needed as part of a busy, expanding service that includes digital pathology progression and Lean methodologies.

Qualifications

• Support the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of BMS staff and deputise for Band 7 section leaders when necessary.
• Develop and maintain standards to support UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation.
• Carry out quality audits (Horizontal, Vertical and Examination) of laboratory processes/procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of departmental training plans for staff and students.
• Provide training in technical Histology to medical staff, other BMS staff, students, and associates as required.
