Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a skilled BMS Service Engineer to cover the Central Belt of England. The role is field-based with responsibilities across maintenance, fault-finding, and system upgrades for building management systems.

You will work independently within a wider team, delivering service excellence and ensuring controllers and network devices operate reliably while promoting OpenBlue cloud-connected technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within BMS, Building Controls or Automation.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing service environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on BMS and control systems.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Configuring and commissioning controllers and network-level devices.
• Modifying software and maintaining accurate system documentation.
• Producing service reports and recommendations.
• Building strong customer relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
• Supporting upgrade and lifecycle projects.
• Promoting OpenBlue and cloud-connected building technologies.
• Maintaining health, safety and compliance standards.

We're looking for an experienced BMS Service Engineer to join our growing team. This field-based role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse customer portfolio while supporting critical building control systems and developing your career with a global leader in smart building technology.

The Role

As a BMS Service Engineer, you'll be the trusted technical expert for our customers, delivering service excellence and ensuring systems operate at peak performance. Working independently and as part of a wider team, you'll support service delivery, system optimisation and future upgrade opportunities.

This is a mobile role covering the Central Belt of England, from the Midlands through to Peterborough.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on BMS and control systems

What We’re Looking For

• min 3 years’ experience within BMS, Building Controls or Automation
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience in a customer-facing service environment
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work independently and participate in an out-of-hours callout rota
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
• Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys systems (advantageous)
