Job description

We are seeking a Service & Commissioning Engineer to join a national market leader in the Building Management Systems industry & Energy Optimisation. This is a field-based role in Basingstoke, Reading, Camberley & Oxford!

The Role

In this position, you will be tasked with performing planned preventative maintenance, commissioning small projects, and handling reactive call-outs on various BMS systems. You should be able to work well within a team but also demonstrate efficiency and independence when needed. Additionally, you may oversee junior engineers, ensuring they operate effectively and safely on site. As a member of the service and small works commissioning team, you will be encouraged to share technical knowledge with fellow engineers and seek support from the team when necessary.

Responsibilities
  1. Daily email check for instructions
  2. Backup of software and strategy files for serviced sites
  3. Electrical LAN mapping for applicable sites
  4. Design and implementation of PPM planners
  5. Care and maintenance of controls equipment
  6. Attendance at callouts and breakdowns as per SLAs
  7. Daily updates to line manager
  8. Completion of site reports with recommendations
  9. Commissioning various DDC control systems
  10. Enforcing H&S interests for all employees and subcontractors
  11. Creation and enforcement of method statements and risk assessments
  12. Maintenance of office-based project folders and adherence to ISO procedures
  13. Ensuring project compliance with design specifications and health and safety policies
  14. Proper controls equipment procurement for each project
  15. Creation of software, wiring & commissioning schedules, and O&M documentation
  16. Weekly timesheet completion and adherence to company ISO procedures
Requirements & Skills
  1. Experience with Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, and ALC, with expertise in Niagara-based systems, BMS control strategy interpretation and modification, HVAC systems, and electrical competency.
  2. Ability to work well within a team and independently
  3. Commercial awareness and technical knowledge
  4. Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills
  5. Customer service skills, both verbal and written
  6. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and in-house service management databases & financial systems
