Job Description:

Our client, a growing digital solutions company, is looking for an experienced BMS Project Manager to help deliver critical upgrades to their clients’ Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure. As a BMS Project Manager, you’ll lead multiple projects valued between £1–2 million, part of a 3–4 year rolling programme. You will manage delivery on time and budget, and play a key role in team growth to support future projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing projects for public sector or central government clients, a qualification in construction or engineering, and confidence in handling contract changes, scope, and budget management.

Key responsibilities for the BMS Project Manager:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects aligned with outcomes and policies.
  • Serve as the main escalation point for clients and end users, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Ensure project benefits are realized with proper approvals and assurance.
  • Hold team members accountable to deadlines, quality, and safety standards.
  • Monitor project controls, tracking progress against milestones and budgets.
  • Manage project resources to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee project partners and maintain strong relationships.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience managing projects for public sector or central government clients.
  • Experience handling contract changes, budgets, and scope management.
  • Familiarity with standardised project processes.
  • Recognised project management qualification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
  • Background in construction or engineering, ideally with NVQ Level 5, HNC/HND or higher.
