The position requires a proactive, customer-driven approach, demonstrating full ownership and responsibility for producing an overall Project Solution. The role involves helping to implement and complete projects with the required levels of customer satisfaction and collaboration with the Schneider Project Team. It includes managing, engineering, planning, and resourcing multiple design projects within the End User Projects Team. Close working relationships with the Operations Manager, Project Managers, and the Engineering Manager of the Region are essential, offering opportunities for career progression within the Projects Team.
Key responsibilities:
- Health & Safety: Ensure operations and designs prioritize the safety of the workforce and colleagues. Maintain a safe working environment, using QMS documentation and tools to control standards. Proactively identify skills and knowledge gaps to uphold Schneider safety standards.
- Design and Delivery: Manage multiple projects with commercial awareness, including forecasting, procurement, invoice approval, variation handling, and final account agreement. Collaborate closely with the Project Team, Operations Manager, and Commercial team.
- Milestones & Performance: Define project scope, goals, objectives, and performance measures to ensure targets are met or exceeded, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Engineering Responsibilities: Design of BMS and integrated projects, including I/O schedules, operational descriptions, control panel design approval, plant schematics, H&S documentation, and O&M documentation, maintaining quality and ISO standards. Coordinate scheduling with Commissioning Engineers.
- Team Support: Support, coach, and mentor team members to ensure successful project delivery. Identify project issues and skills gaps, working with the Operations Manager to address them promptly.
- Customer Engagement: Proactively gather all necessary information to advance work. Attend site meetings with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants, maintaining a customer-first focus while managing safety, time, and financial constraints.
- Motivation & Risk Management: Be highly motivated, risk-aware, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Skills and Attributes:
- Technical Knowledge & Delivery: Understanding of building automation, control systems, HVAC, energy management, and related technologies. Skilled in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, decision-making, conflict resolution, and risk mitigation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Capable of understanding client needs and managing expectations.
- Product Knowledge & Innovation: Familiarity with key products and technologies used in design, installation, and operations. Ability to leverage product and design expertise to optimize projects. Experience with Schneider products and EcoStruxure is preferred but not mandatory.
Education:
- HND/HNC in Building Services, Engineering, or Construction with an M&E background.
- Bachelor’s Degree in M&E, Building Services, Electronics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Project Management certification such as Prince2, PMP, or equivalent.
