Northampton - Permanent
Don't want to spend the rest of your career doing just one thing?
Maybe you're currently a BMS Maintenance Engineer who's ready to get involved in more commissioning and project work.
Maybe you're a Commissioning Engineer who doesn't mind getting stuck into the occasional maintenance issue.
Or perhaps you're already a good all-round BMS Engineer looking for a business where you can broaden your skills and take on more responsibility.
We're working with a major BMS business that's continuing to strengthen its Midlands operation and they're deliberately keeping an open mind about exactly where the successful engineer comes from.
They're not necessarily looking for the finished article.
They're looking for someone with good BMS foundations, the right attitude and the ambition to develop.
You’ll join an established Midlands engineering team, ideally based around the Northampton / Milton Keynes area.
This is a varied engineering position rather than one where you'll be pigeonholed into a single discipline.
Depending on the workload and your existing experience, you’ll get involved across commissioning, project works and some maintenance, giving you the opportunity to develop into a genuinely rounded BMS engineer.
If you’re coming from maintenance, that could mean developing your commissioning and project capability.
If you’re already commissioning, it could mean getting more involved in wider project delivery.
And if you’re already comfortable across all three, you’ll have the opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact.
The business has projects ranging from approximately £20,000 through to £400,000, although the majority sit around the £100,000-£150,000 mark.
We're deliberately keeping this fairly open.
You could be an experienced BMS Engineer who can come in as a safe pair of hands.
But equally, you could have a couple of years' BMS experience and be looking for the opportunity to take the next step.
Ideally, you'll be based around Northampton or Milton Keynes.
Projects and contracts extend across the wider Midlands, including Milton Keynes, Leicester and Nottingham, alongside some work towards Cambridge and Oxford.
There will naturally be some travel - that's project engineering - but the business actively tries to keep engineers reasonably local where possible, generally aiming for work within approximately 60-90 minutes of home.
You don't need to already be a fully‑fledged Project Engineer.
If you've built good BMS experience and you're thinking, "I'm ready to do more than I'm doing now," that's exactly the type of person we'd like to speak to.
Likewise, if you're already an experienced Trend / Tridium engineer looking for a varied role where you can get involved across commissioning and projects, we'd like to hear from you.
