Job Title: BMS Engineer

Salary: £48,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday

We are seeking a skilled BMS Engineer to join a growing team at a brand-new, state-of-the-art data centre in Longcross. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment where you will play a vital role in ensuring critical building systems operate to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of Building Management and Environmental Monitoring Systems (BMS & EMS), supporting essential infrastructure and ensuring the reliability of key mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works on BMS & EMS systems.
  • Monitor, calibrate, and maintain system performance to ensure optimum functionality.
  • Diagnose and resolve plant faults quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of all works, updates, and system logs.
  • Supervise and liaise with subcontractors while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Operate within safe systems of work, including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work systems.
  • Support delivery of contractual KPI/SLA targets.
Skills & Experience
  • Recognised electrical or technical qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, or equivalent).
  • Strong multi-skilled background in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience working with critical systems, including UPS, generators, power distribution, and HVAC.
  • Previous experience within a data centre or other mission-critical environment.
  • Desirable: knowledge of ICT systems integration with BMS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault finding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
