Job summary

Unify is seeking an experienced BMS Design Engineer in Watford to join a team of designers. You will drive designs from specification to handover, coordinating with project managers and clients across London and beyond.

The role offers autonomy and involvement in key commercial projects, with a typical workload on £100k–£2m projects and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on BMS design experience.
• Strong CAD skills, especially AutoCAD.
• Good Excel/Word proficiency and project software familiarity.
• Technical understanding of BMS systems (Trend, Tridium, Siemens, etc.).

BMS Design Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + Pension

Hours: 8:45am - 4:45pm (Monday to Friday)

Type: Permanent | Office-based

I am working with a well-established BMS company in Watford who are looking to grow its design team. I am looking for an experienced BMS Design Engineer to join their expanding operation. With a consistent pipeline of project work coming the succesfull candidate will have a great opportunity to be the point of contact for clients throughout the design process from specification to handover.

You’ll join a team of around 6 Design Engineers, reporting to a supportive Design Manager. The role offers autonomy, variety, and the chance to work on key commercial projects across London and further afield.

The Role

You will work alongside Project Managers, Sales and Technical teams to:

• Produce BMS system designs and CAD drawings from specifications
• Size and design control panels. prepare job files and quotations
• Submit designs to clients and liaise directly on technical requirements
• Manage multiple small-to-medium projects (typically £100k-£2m in value)

What You’ll Need

• Proven BMS design experience (hands‑on design is essential)
• Strong AutoCAD skills (any experience with other CAD software is a plus)
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Master Project
• Technical understanding of BMS systems (Trend, Tridium, Siemens, etc.)
• Ability to handle several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
