Job summary

Bimplus in London is seeking an experienced Engineering Controls Manager to own the controls and Building Management Systems strategy across a large estate including retail and distribution environments.

You will develop and enhance engineering controls, craft industry-leading standards, and work with Property, Operations, IT, and Engineering teams to deliver improvements that boost energy efficiency and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering technical projects from concept to implementation.
• Strong knowledge of controls platforms and automation technologies.
• Experience writing technical specifications and managing suppliers and contractors.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, compliance requirements, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance engineering controls and BMS platforms across the estate.
• Create and maintain industry-leading technical standards aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with technical, operational, property, and IT stakeholders to deliver consistent engineering solutions.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, simplification, and cost-effective improvements.
• Lead the development of short, medium, and long-term controls strategies.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, industry experts, and internal stakeholders.
• Produce technical specifications and support the design and delivery of engineering projects.
• Develop business cases for new technologies, trials, and improvement initiatives.
• Support energy reduction programmes and operational efficiency projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
• Drive continuous improvement and introduce emerging technologies that deliver value to the business.
