BMS Controls Engineer

Key Tasks

1. Maintenance & Repairs: Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and address reactive repairs on the Building Management System (BMS).
2. System Monitoring: Continuously monitor BMS operations and alarms to ensure optimal performance.
3. Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical contact for clients and site staff, ensuring all tasks meet client expectations and comply with legislative standards.
4. Environmental Control: Ensure building environmental controls meet specified requirements and tolerances.
5. Diagnostics & Optimization: Perform system checks and diagnostics to confirm systems are operating efficiently.
6. Change Management: Implement and manage change control processes for documentation, software, and hardware.
7. Communication: Develop effective methods for communicating system changes to clients and internal teams.
8. Alarm Protocols: Review and enhance alarm management protocols to improve system responsiveness.
9. Emergency Coordination: Collaborate with site and client management during emergency operations or procedures.
10. Equipment Oversight: Inspect, test, maintain, modify, and troubleshoot equipment and services.
11. Fault Investigation: Investigate, diagnose, and rectify faults in mechanical and electrical distribution systems.
12. Plant Operations: Authorize and perform start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures for service plant and equipment.
13. Compliance: Consult with Engineering Leaders on operational, regulatory, and statutory compliance matters.
14. Audits: Conduct technical and quality audits to ensure assets and operations comply with standards.
15. System Enhancements: Identify and implement system enhancements to improve resilience and performance.
16. Meetings: Participate in operational and technical meetings as required.
17. Data Analysis: Maintain, review, and report analytical data from the site's Fault Detection Diagnostic system.
18. Smart Systems Maintenance: Maintain the building's smart systems and IoT devices, including MQTT and API integrations.

We are looking for someone with:

1. Industry Experience: Proven experience in BMS engineering roles, demonstrating a strong foundation in building automation systems.
2. BMS Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Building Management Systems, with hands-on experience in Tridium Niagara and EasyIO platforms.
3. Communication Protocols: Familiar with standard BMS communication protocols, including BACnet and Modbus.
4. Building Services Acumen: Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, ensuring effective integration with BMS.
5. IT Networking Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of IT networking principles, supporting the integration and maintenance of BMS infrastructure.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, facilitating clear interaction with clients and team members.
7. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
