Qualifications

• Experience in BMS/BEMS commissioning in building services or data centers.
• Strong knowledge of BMS and HVAC control applications.
• Ability to interpret and commission BMS software/graphics.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus or similar protocols.
• Experience on large-scale commercial/industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Carry out commissioning, testing and validation of BMS/BEMS across large-scale data centre environments.
• Configure, test and commission BMS controllers, field devices, sensors, and related systems.
• Perform point-to-point and functional testing and system integration.
• Review control strategies, drawings, points schedules and docs.
• Troubleshoot issues with BMS software, hardware and communications.
• Support integration of BMS with HVAC and electrical systems in critical facilities.
• Coordinate with project managers and wider commissioning teams.
• Produce commissioning records, test sheets and handover docs.
• Ensure safe delivery and adherence to quality and programmes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to join our Enterprise Solutions team, working on a major NTT Data Centre project in Dagenham.

You'll play a key role in commissioning and delivering intelligent building control systems, ensuring the reliable performance of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

What will the role look like?

• Carry out commissioning, testing and validation of Building Management Systems (BMS/BEMS) across a large-scale data centre environment.

• Configure, test and commission BMS controllers, field devices, sensors and associated control systems.

• Undertake point-to-point testing, functional testing and system integration.

• Review and interpret control strategies, technical drawings, points schedules and commissioning documentation.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues relating to BMS software, hardware and system communications.

• Support the integration of BMS with HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, including critical cooling infrastructure.

• Work closely with project managers, design engineers, subcontractors and wider MEP commissioning teams.

• Support integrated systems testing (IST) and demonstrate system functionality against project specifications.

• Produce accurate commissioning records, test sheets and handover documentation.

• Ensure all activities are delivered safely, to the required quality standards and in line with project programmes.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

• Proven experience as a BMS/BEMS Commissioning Engineer within the building services or construction industry.

• Strong technical knowledge of Building Management Systems and HVAC control applications.

• Hands-on experience with BMS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, Trend or Siemens.

• Ability to interpret, modify and commission BMS control software and graphics.

• Experience with communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus and other industry-standard interfaces.

• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services and their integration with BMS.

• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial or technically complex projects.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• A proactive approach to health, safety and quality.

Previous experience working within data centres or other mission-critical environments would be advantageous.
