Job summary

Schneider Electric in the Southwest and Wales region is seeking talented engineers to join our team, delivering building management systems projects from software to commissioning. You will work with project managers and technicians to install, configure, and validate control systems at customer sites while upholding our Core Values and safety standards.

The role focuses on pre-commissioning panels, integrating third party devices, writing controller software, and handing over completed systems

Qualifications

  • Background in electrical engineering or related subject.
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment is advantageous.
  • Experience in on-site commissioning and site work is preferred.
  • Experience in BMS software/graphics is preferred but training is provided.
  • Familiarity with EcoStruxure or legacy products is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • To work and collaborate within a team framework in the engineering group of project managers and engineers.
  • To commission solutions as part of customer orders, including software, graphics, installation and commissioning of building management control systems and third-party integration.
  • To maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers as trusted experts in all aspects of works.
  • To ensure a safe and healthy working environment, comply with site requirements, method statements and risk assessments.

Your Mission:

  • To work and collaborate within a team framework adding your skills, innovations and ideas to our ever-growing engineering team of project managers, project engineers and commissioning engineers
  • To commission solutions as part of customer orders incorporating the software, graphics, installation and commissioning of building management control systems and third-party integration
  • To maintain & develop relationships with new & existing customers so that we become their trusted expert in all aspects of works
  • To maintain and implement Schneider Electric Core Values
  • To ensure a safe and healthy working environment for themselves and others, at office or site locations. Operating to site requirements, Project Method statements and risk assessments, Schneider Electric Health & Safety Systems
  • Set up servers and workstations on site and load software and licenses
  • To pre-commission control panels, field devices onto new and existing systems
  • To commission controllers, networks and field devices into a complete control system
  • To integrate third party systems onto existing BMS systems
  • Writing and commissioning controller software through Function Block Editor
  • Configuring and drawing end user graphics to represent the building controls
  • To configure and commission graphics and to document commissioning progress, site reports and assist with Operations and Maintenance manuals
  • To handover and demonstrate the completed system to customer/consultant
  • To manage installations and sub contractors with the support of Project Managers
  • To support Schneider Electric and client support teams on new and existing projects

Skills & Experience:

  • Due to the nature of the role, a background in electrical engineering or related subject is preferable
  • Experience in a similar technical role would be advantageous, but on the job training will be provided
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment
  • Experience in on site commissioning and site experience is preferred
  • Experience in BMS software and graphics is preferred but training is provided on products
  • Experience in our EcoStruxture product or legacy products Sigma, Vista or Continuum is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Some accreditations in HVAC controls, BCIA or CIBSE is advantageous
  • Have a strong interest and passion in STEM (science, engineering, technology or mathematics)
