Job summary

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist is essential.
• Significant knowledge and experience of laboratory services in an acute hospital setting.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience of managing performance, demand and capacity, service planning and workforce redesign.
• Understanding of quality governance, accreditation, risk management and laboratory regulations.
• Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement in a complex healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational management of Blood Sciences services.
• Lead performance, workforce, finance, quality governance and risk management.
• Drive service improvement and achievement of national and local targets.
• Provide senior leadership across Blood Sciences staffing.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director, Specialty Team Leads and Quality Manager.
