Overview

Applications are invited for a suitably qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Blood Sciences department at North Bristol NHS Trust. The department comprises Immunology, Haematology & Transfusion and Clinical Biochemistry, providing services to acute and primary care within the Bristol area and regional services.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and dynamic individual with excellent leadership skills who, with the Blood Sciences Service Manager and Clinical Heads of Service, will be responsible for delivering an efficient, expert and cost-effective Blood Sciences service for North Bristol NHS Trust and other service users.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Blood Sciences Manager and Clinical Heads of Service to provide an efficient, expert and cost-effective Blood Sciences service for North Bristol NHS Trust and other service users.
• Take responsibility for continuing quality improvement and overall performance of the service, ensuring training, health and safety and quality management requirements are appropriate and implemented.
• Provide overall oversight of all quality management elements, including final oversight of method documentation within areas of responsibility.
• Collaborate with clinical leads of the specialisms to review strategic requirements of the service and ensure service delivery remains at the forefront of quality, service delivery and patient pathways.
