Job summary

Integrated Pathology Partnership Limited, operating the Yeovil District Hospital pathology service, is seeking an Associate Practitioner for the Blood Sciences Department. The role offers rotation across Specimen Reception, Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion, with supervision by senior staff and opportunities to develop laboratory skills.

The successful candidate will work within ISO-accredited facilities, participate in CPD, and contribute to high-quality diagnostic services while

Qualifications

Relevant NVQ Level 3 with applied theoretical knowledge.
NVQ to Level 4 diploma or equivalent desirable.
Experience in pathology laboratory.
Ability to communicate complex information courteously and clearly.
Analytical equipment experience.

Responsibilities

Rotate through all areas of the laboratories as required and maintain high professional standards.
Perform routine and specialist biomedical investigations under supervision.
Propose changes to SOPs to develop the service and reflect changes.
Utilise LIMS, Q-Pulse and other software; assist in data entry.
Communicate clearly with staff; attend meetings and CPD activities.
Provide supervision and training to junior staff; monitor training plans.
Plan, prioritise work allocations and audits; support CPD activities.
Manage stock control and use of consumables within the section.
Report incidents and adverse events to senior staff.
