WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

In this role, you will use your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with blood collection. Your responsibilities include working with your team to transport and set up equipment at community donation sites, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and following safety procedures to collect and deliver lifesaving blood donations to hospitals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Engage personally with donors, listening to their stories and explaining the importance of their donations.
  • Work with your team to ensure a friendly, comfortable environment for donors to encourage repeat donations.
  • Maintain attention to detail to ensure blood collection meets all goals and safety standards.
  • May operate Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites. A minimum height of 60 inches may be required for vehicle operation.
Standard Schedule (Bangor, Maine):
  • Variable shifts Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday, with one day off during the week.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with overnight travel in some locations.
  • Schedules are provided 2-3 weeks in advance.
Pay Information:
  • Starting rate: $19.50/hour.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience and effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, stand or sit for long periods, and adapt to irregular hours and schedule changes. Minimum height requirement of 60 inches for vehicle operation.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Healthcare or phlebotomy experience (e.g., CNA, MA, EMT).
  • Leadership experience.
