About the role

You will be responsible for ensuring the assets (properties) we lease and those we let are managed effectively and efficiently. The role demands a proactive approach to reviewing current arrangements and recommending extensions, amendments and potential exits. Promoting and ensuring consistency wherever practicable. Complex issues may arise, so a calm confident and customer centric approach is essential whilst securing commercial stability, considering impact on the wider business.

With overall responsibility for leasehold properties that are managed by 3rd parties i.e. Managing Agents, freeholders and local authorities.

Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will be supported by the Strategic Asset Management team and will utilise your considerable networking skills to collaborate with colleagues from across the organisation and wider property community.

About you

With a professional approach to your work and a passion for excellent service you will be confident in managing complex property management issues, with a sound knowledge of the Section 20 process, Service Charges, and budget setting.

Drawing on your knowledge of best practice within the housing sector, you will be able take ownership of any leasehold queries and escalate as appropriate to the relevant 3rd party, challenging where necessary and maintaining up to date records on our system, liaising with wider directorate colleagues in order to resolve queries swiftly.

You will have overall responsibility for obtaining and reporting on regulatory compliance areas so a complete understanding of this is essential.

Ideally you will be professionally qualified in IRPM or a similar discipline and conversant with all aspects of leasehold property management. You will be assertive in enforcing obligations yet empathetic in your approach to customers and be comfortable in managing issues as they arise. A team player and collaborator, you will be responsible for a growing portfolio maintaining corporate confidence that the service provided considers the business in its widest sense. You will need to have extensive experience in the interpretation of leases and understand covenants.

You will work closely with the following teams: Asset Management, Estates, Legal Services and Customer you will be a skilled collaborator and possess some knowledge of disrepair as this would be beneficial.

You may be working / or have workedas a Solicitor or in an Estate agency or Property Management company and have a sound knowledge of housing legislation and leasehold matters.

Where could this role take you?Whilst this role is to cover maternity, in a business our size and with the transformation we are going through, there is a possibility that this could either be extended or other suitable opportunities may arise. Many of our talented colleagues started at Paradigm as temporary/interim and have gone on to forge successful careers with us. However, if something longer term doesn’t materialise, you will still gain valuable experience which will add to your employability in this and similar fields

Reduced-Hours OpportunityWe welcome applications from candidates interested in a reduced-hours contract (circa 30 hours over 4 days) please specify this clearly at the application stage. Our standard weekly hours are 37-hour; 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Thursday, and 09:00 - 17:00 on Fridays.
